At 1140 Holbrook was activated for a fire on the roof of Kim Cleaners located at 480 Patchogue Holbrook Road in the Holbrook Commons which is a strip mall with 17 separate businesses. Upon arrival Chief Reimo notified dispatch and responding units of active fire located in the soffit area of Holbrook mini-mart. Mutual aid departments for additional engine, additional ladder and RIT team were activated. Engine 6 arriving at scene immediately established positive water supply and stretched attack lines both interior and exterior. Aggressive attack contained fire damage to exterior of the stores with water and smoke damage affecting several businesses. Units were on scene till 1305 and scene was released to Islip Fire Marshal for investigation and Board of Health was also notified.
