January 16, 2015

On Friday, January 16th at 11:22hrs, the Holbrook FD was activated for a reported Signal 14-Vehicle Fire. Engine 6, who was returning from a previous storm drain fire, was the first unit to respond. Prior to arrival, Holbrook Dispatch had received multiple reports of a column of thick black smoke coming from the area. Asst. Chief Timo joined the alarm, receiving additional information of a working vehicle fire. Engine 6 soon arrived on scene, confirming the working vehicle fire, which was also threatening a structure. E-6's crew stretched a line, aggressively attacking the fire and protecting the structure. Simultaneously, Chief Timo arrived on scene, establishing command. Engine 4, 5, & 9 soon arrived to assist with operations. Within minutes of arriving on scene, E-6's crew knocked down all visible fire while E-5 & 9's crews secured the vehicle & inspected the structure involved. E-4's crew stayed intact & in service for any other possible alarms.

At 11:50hrs, Chief Timo placed a Signal 4-Under Control on the alarm as all fire had been extinguished and the area was inspected. All units were released and placed back in service a short time later, upon the repacking of tools & equipment.
