Fire At Storage Facility

The members of Holbrook were toned out for a reported structure fire at Mr. D's Self Storage at 0057 hrs. While responding, dispatch reported to Chief Pendl that the police were reporting a working fire. Chief Pendl arrived to find that there were multiple storage units well involved. He had dispatch reactivate for a working fire. Engine 1 was first due and stretched a line on the fire. Ladder 10 and Engine 2 arrived shortly after. The crew from Ladder 10 started opening adjasent units to see how far the fire spread. The crew from Engine 2 stretched a second line to help with the fire attack. The Town of Islip was called for a Back Ho for help with the overhaul. A total of 13 units were involved. One person was transported to Stony Brook Univeristy Hospital with burns. The fire is under investigation by SCPD arson. All units were back in service at 0530 hrs.
