Working fire Mollie Blvd

AT 10:15 am Holbrook was dispatched to a structure fire at 506 Mollie Blvd. Original reports were for a possible oil burner puff back. 1st Asst Chief Stack was first on scene reporting heavy smoke from the chimney and light smoke from the eaves of the house. Neighbors reported the possibility of an occupant within. Heavy smoke was encountered at the front door. 2nd Asst Chief Heinssen entered to search and found the dwelling unoccupied. Ex-Capt. Hulsen did a 360 of the building, locating the bilco doors and upon opening them reported heavy fire in the basement. Chief Pendl activated a working fire. Engine 2 and Engine 12 commenced an agressive attack on the fire. Mutual aid was received from Sayville for a RIT Team, Bohemia to the scene and Holtsville to standby at HQ.
